Why Unstructured Data Security Is So Hard

Ever wonder why most organizations can’t answer a simple question like:

“If I pull Alice from this security group, what data is she going to lose access to?”

This is one of those questions that, much like the Travelling Salesman Problem, is deceptively simple to state, but excruciatingly hard to solve.

When you dig deep, you get trapped in a massive web of functional relationships between users, groups, ACLs, content, and audit data.  Given the volume of unstructured data we’re dealing with today, these critical questions pose massive computational challenges.

So what do we do?  We build a framework.
